Seeking Noah's Flood: This documentary explores the age-old tales and scientific facts of this well-known Biblical calamity. In the Biblical story, Noah, the tenth descendant of Adam through Seth, is portrayed as the only righteous man in an age of iniquity. Because God wants to save him and his family from the deluge to wash away the unrighteous, Noah is commanded to build an ark and take with him two of every creature. There are many flood legends in the Near East, and scientists believe they may be tied to an event that occurred when the Black Sea flooded. Scientists today continue to seek the geologic "portal" formation that once separated the waters of the Mediterranean and the Black Sea. The viewer travels to ancient underwater ruins near modern-day Turkey to see evidence supporting the existence of remnants of the ark. The film makes for absorbing viewing for those interested in religion, science, and archeology.
