Initial D: On the downhill pass of Mt. Akina, Takumi receives a new challenge from a Subuaru Impreza WR-X. Thinking this is a pushover, he engages it in battle, only to find himself thoroughly spanked as the Impreza's driver overtakes him, and even uses the same gutter cornering technique on the hairpin turns. Meanwhile, Itsuki celebrates his new Turbo upgrade to his Eight-Five. As he and the Speed Stars go out for a drive, they get overtaken by some guys from Tokyo who are used to driving circuits. Iketani gets the feeling they will race him on the way back down, and asks Takumi to back him up with Itsuki's Eight-Five should they encounter trouble.
